I want to make these plastic buckets sound different. How?

Im teaching drums to kids in this camp and they are using like the big plastic buckets if you know what im talking about. I want to take like 4 buckets for myself and make them sounds different to immitate a drumset almost. How could i do this? Like put two buckets together? Or put something inside to change the sound. Let me know if you have had experience with this or just know your stuff. Thanks :)
